SD Dept of Health reports 3 new COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 3 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,901. The state had 165 new cases and 166 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 412. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 38.

So far, South Dakota has had 237,535 cases and 234,222 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 10 new cases and 5 recoveries. The county currently has 26 active cases. Overall, the county has had 10,303 cases and 10,156 recoveries. There’s currently 121 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 57,106 cases, followed by Pennington County with 32,735 and Lincoln County with 15,507, Other counties totals include Codington with 8,413, Brookings with 8,102, Meade with 7,010, Lawrence with 6,575, and Yankton with 5,905.

Statewide 522,347 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(72.29% of the state) with 471,774 completing vaccination(59.19% of the state).  Statewide 215,633 have received the booster shot(33.59% of the state).

Brown County has 23,709 receiving at least one shot & 22,357 completing vaccination. 11,215 receiving the booster shot.
