SD Dept of Health reports 3 new COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 3 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases increased & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,915. The state had 373 new cases and 144 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 766. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 25.

So far, South Dakota has had 238,185 cases and 234,504 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 7 new cases and 4 recoveries. The county currently has 30 active cases. Overall, the county has had 10,327 cases and 10,176 recoveries. There’s currently 121 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 57,297 cases, followed by Pennington County with 32,840 and Lincoln County with 15,559, Other counties totals include Codington with 8,438, Brookings with 8,133, Meade with 7,027, Lawrence with 6,589, and Yankton with 5,916.

Statewide 523,667 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(72.55% of the state) with 473,306 completing vaccination(59.39% of the state).  Statewide 217,457 have received the booster shot(34.08% of the state).

Brown County has 23,766 receiving at least one shot & 22,417 completing vaccination. 11,299 receiving the booster shot.
