SD Dept of Health reports 3 new COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 3 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,931. The state had 972 new cases and 596 recoveries, increasing active infections to 2,546. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 52.

So far, South Dakota has had 241,298 cases and 236,821 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 28 new cases and 22 recoveries. The county currently has 69 active cases. Overall, the county has had 10,453 cases and 10,263 recoveries. There’s currently 121 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 58,112 cases, followed by Pennington County with 33,700 and Lincoln County with 15,798, Other counties totals include Codington with 8,651, Brookings with 8,304, Meade with 7,199, Lawrence with 6,738, and Yankton with 6,014.

Statewide 526,824 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 73% of the state).

Brown County has 23,870 receiving at least one shot.
