SD Dept of Health reports 3 new COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 3 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases decreased & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,033. The state had 19 new cases and 34 recoveries, increasing active infections to 146. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 23.

So far, South Dakota has had 124,521 cases and 122,342 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 1 new case and no recoveries. The county currently has 8 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,643 cases and 5,540 recoveries. There’s currently 95 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 31,759 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,936, and Lincoln County with 8,722, Other counties totals include Codington with 4,655, Brookings with 4,236, Davison with 3,251, Yankton with 3,114, and Lawrence with 3,011.

Statewide 367,140 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 56% of the state) with 345,302 completing vaccination(over 52% of the state). Brown County has 17,520 receiving at least one shot & 16,706 completing vaccination.
