SD Dept of Health reports 3 new COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 3 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases decreased & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 3,017. The state had 956 new cases and 997 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 709. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 94.

So far, South Dakota has had 260,639 cases and 256,913 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 51 new cases and 45 recoveries. The county currently has 35 active cases. Overall, the county has had 11,177 cases and 11,018 recoveries. There’s currently 124 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 61,485 cases, followed by Pennington County with 36,782 and Lincoln County with 16,570, Other counties totals include Codington with 9,589, Brookings with 8,889, Meade with 7,919, Lawrence with 7,372, and Yankton with 6,492.

Statewide 535,661 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 76% of the state).

Brown County has 24,192 receiving at least one shot.
