PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 7 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases increased & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 3,106. The state had 1,089 new cases and 1,065 recoveries, increasing active infections to 776. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 62.

So far, South Dakota has had 269,886 cases and 266,004 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 56 new cases. Overall, the county has had 11,703 cases. There’s currently 130 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 63,282 cases, followed by Pennington County with 37,726 and Lincoln County with 17,026, Other counties totals include Codington with 10,179, Brookings with 9,149, Meade with 8,157, Lawrence with 7,611, and Davison with 6,850.
