SD Dept of Health reports 3 new COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 3 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,038. The state had 25 new cases and 14 recoveries, increasing active infections to 156. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 22.

So far, South Dakota has had 124,561 cases and 122,367 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 1 new case and 1 recovery. The county currently has 9 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,643 cases and 5,540 recoveries. There’s currently 95 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 31,762 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,944, and Lincoln County with 8,722, Other counties totals include Codington with 4,656, Brookings with 4,236, Davison with 3,252, Yankton with 3,114, and Lawrence with 3,017.

Statewide 367,650 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(under 57% of the state) with 345,943 completing vaccination(under 53% of the state). Brown County has 17,544 receiving at least one shot & 16,745 completing vaccination.
