SD Dept of Health reports 3 new COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 3 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,096. The state had 552 new cases and 387 recoveries, increasing active infections to 7,526. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 214.

So far, South Dakota has had 139,412 cases and 129,790 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 14 new cases and 11 recoveries. The county currently has 268 active cases. Overall, the county has had 6,067 cases and 5,704 recoveries. There’s currently 95 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 34,479 cases, followed by Pennington County with 17,813 and Lincoln County with 9,449, Other counties totals include Codington with 4,998, Brookings with 4,736, Meade with 3,891, Lawrence with 3,850, and Davison with 3,510.

Statewide 414,508 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 63% of the state) with 382,034 completing vaccination(over 57% of the state). Brown County has 19,583 receiving at least one shot & 18,417 completing vaccination.
