SD Dept of Health reports 3 new COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 3 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases decreased & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,108. The state had 739 new cases and 1,027 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 7,636. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 236.

So far, South Dakota has had 141,141 cases and 131,397 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 36 new cases and 31 recoveries. The county currently has 286 active cases. Overall, the county has had 6,148 cases and 5,767 recoveries. There’s currently 95 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 34,840 cases, followed by Pennington County with 18,206 and Lincoln County with 9,549, Other counties totals include Codington with 5,054, Brookings with 4,818, Meade with 3,969, Lawrence with 3,914, and Davison with 3,537.

Statewide 417,127 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 63% of the state) with 384,250 completing vaccination(under 58% of the state). Brown County has 19,712 receiving at least one shot & 18,576 completing vaccination.
