SD Dept of Health reports 3 new COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 3 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,145. The state had 456 new cases and 516 recoveries, increasing active infections to 7,325. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 213.

So far, South Dakota has had 145,474 cases and 136,004 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 9 new cases and 29 recoveries. The county currently has 272 active cases. Overall, the county has had 6,296 cases and 5,929 recoveries. There’s currently 95 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 35,778 cases, followed by Pennington County with 19,080 and Lincoln County with 9,822, Other counties totals include Codington with 5,219, Brookings with 4,946, Meade with 4,164, Lawrence with 4,083, and Davison with 3,611.

Statewide 421,950 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 64% of the state) with 390,529 completing vaccination(over 58% of the state). Brown County has 19,895 receiving at least one shot & 18,864 completing vaccination.
