SD Dept of Health reports 3 new COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 3 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,170. The state had 474 new cases and 490 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 6,716. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 213.

So far, South Dakota has had 147,469 cases and 138,583 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 16 new cases and 24 recoveries. The county currently has 242 active cases. Overall, the county has had 6,353 cases and 6,017 recoveries. There’s currently 96 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 36,215 cases, followed by Pennington County with 19,507 and Lincoln County with 9,932, Other counties totals include Codington with 5,284, Brookings with 4,997, Meade with 4,266, Lawrence with 4,154, and Davison with 3,644.

Statewide 424,712 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 64% of the state) with 392,999 completing vaccination(over 59% of the state). Brown County has 19,999 receiving at least one shot & 18,975 completing vaccination.
