SD Dept of Health reports 3 new COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 3 new COVID-related death, while active cases increased & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,026. The state had 23 new cases and 9 recoveries, increasing active infections to 230. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 35.

So far, South Dakota has had 124,335 cases and 122,079 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had no new cases and no recoveries. The county currently has 11 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,635 cases and 5,529 recoveries. There’s currently 95 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 31,735 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,872, and Lincoln County with 8,717, Other counties totals include Codington with 4,650, Brookings with 4,234, Davison with 3,246, Yankton with 3,112, and Lawrence with 3,008.

Statewide 358,478 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 55% of the state) with 331,072 completing vaccination(over 50% of the state). Brown County has 17,170 receiving at least one shot & 16,042 completing vaccination.
