PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 3 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases decreased & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,609. The state had 2,829 new cases and 2,918 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 36,155. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 423.
So far, South Dakota has had 221,372 cases and 182,608 recoveries.
Locally, Brown County had 151 new cases and 111 recoveries. The county currently has 1,545 active cases. Overall, the county has had 9,398 cases and 7,741 recoveries. There’s currently 112 Covid-related deaths.
Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 54,787 cases, followed by Pennington County with 30,268 and Lincoln County with 14,943, Other counties totals include Codington with 7,699, Brookings with 7,637, Meade with 6,397, Lawrence with 6,010, and Davison with 5,528.
Statewide 506,344 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 69% of the state) with 452,476 completing vaccination(under 57% of the state). Statewide 192,816 have received the booster shot(under 30% of the state).
Brown County has 23,189 receiving at least one shot & 21,537 completing vaccination. 9,949 receiving the booster shot.
