SD Dept of Health reports 4 new COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 4 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases decreased & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,375. The state had 1,026 new cases and 1,057 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 7,647. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 250.

So far, South Dakota has had 169,789 cases and 159,767 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 33 new cases and 41 recoveries. The county currently has 321 active cases. Overall, the county has had 7,394 cases and 6,966 recoveries. There’s currently 107 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 40,988 cases, followed by Pennington County with 22,934 and Lincoln County with 11,234, Other counties totals include Codington with 6,164, Brookings with 5,495, Meade with 4,984, Lawrence with 4,783, and Davison with 4,150.

Statewide 482,631 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 65% of the state) with 434,743 completing vaccination(over 54% of the state).  Statewide 135,045 have received the booster shot(over 17% of the state).

Brown County has 22,217 receiving at least one shot & 20,657 completing vaccination. 7,031 receiving the booster shot.
