PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 4 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases decreased & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,411. The state had 717 new cases and 1,145 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 7,151. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 284.
So far, South Dakota has had 172,300 cases and 162,738 recoveries.
Locally, Brown County had 24 new cases and 56 recoveries. The county currently has 256 active cases. Overall, the county has had 7,474 cases and 7,111 recoveries. There’s currently 107 Covid-related deaths.
Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 41,562 cases, followed by Pennington County with 23,160 and Lincoln County with 11,374, Other counties totals include Codington with 6,265, Brookings with 5,542, Meade with 5,042, Lawrence with 4,836, and Davison with 4,260.
Statewide 486,892 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 66% of the state) with 438,484 completing vaccination(over 54% of the state). Statewide 147,967 have received the booster shot(under 19% of the state).
Brown County has 22,411 receiving at least one shot & 20,884 completing vaccination. 7,646 receiving the booster shot.
