SD Dept of Health reports 4 new COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 4 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,691. The state had 594 new cases and 2,537 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 23,105. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 340.

So far, South Dakota has had 230,834 cases and 205,038 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 35 new cases and 112 recoveries. The county currently has 1,213 active cases. Overall, the county has had 9,958 cases and 8,631 recoveries. There’s currently 114 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 56,122 cases, followed by Pennington County with 31,760 and Lincoln County with 15,271, Other counties totals include Codington with 8,171, Brookings with 7,941, Meade with 6,777, Lawrence with 6,356, and Davison with 5,798.

Statewide 511,746 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 70% of the state) with 459,253 completing vaccination(over 57% of the state).  Statewide 201,197 have received the booster shot(under 31% of the state).

Brown County has 23,413 receiving at least one shot & 21,872 completing vaccination. 10,743 receiving the booster shot.
