SD Dept of Health reports 4 new COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 4 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 3,021. The state had 732 new cases and 897 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 540. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 81.

So far, South Dakota has had 261,371 cases and 257,810 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 28 new cases and 44 recoveries. The county currently has 19 active cases. Overall, the county has had 11,205 cases and 11,062 recoveries. There’s currently 124 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 61,607 cases, followed by Pennington County with 36,869 and Lincoln County with 16,618, Other counties totals include Codington with 9,618, Brookings with 8,909, Meade with 7,946, Lawrence with 7,390, and Yankton with 6,512.

Statewide 536,443 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 76% of the state).

Brown County has 24,197 receiving at least one shot.
