PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 4 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases increased & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health through Friday. The death total currently at 2,088. The state had 528 new cases and 330 recoveries, increasing active infections to 7,226. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 197.
So far, South Dakota has had 137,300 cases and 127,986 recoveries.
Locally, Brown County had 28 new cases and 3 recoveries. The county currently has 250 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,992 cases and 5,647 recoveries. There’s currently 95 Covid-related deaths.
Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 34,081 cases, followed by Pennington County with 17,241 and Lincoln County with 9,372, Other counties totals include Codington with 4,934, Brookings with 4,660, Meade with 3,766, Lawrence with 3,761, and Davison with 3,462.
Statewide 411,998 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(below 63% of the state) with 379,390 completing vaccination(over 57% of the state). Brown County has 19,530 receiving at least one shot & 18,336 completing vaccination.
