PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 4 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,092. The state had 992 new cases and 951 recoveries, increasing active infections to 7,263. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 215.
So far, South Dakota has had 138,292 cases and 128,937 recoveries.
Locally, Brown County had 33 new cases and 37 recoveries. The county currently has 246 active cases. Overall, the county has had 6,025 cases and 5,684 recoveries. There’s currently 95 Covid-related deaths.
Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 34,282 cases, followed by Pennington County with 17,519 and Lincoln County with 9,423, Other counties totals include Codington with 4,970, Brookings with 4,687, Meade with 3,831, Lawrence with 3,802, and Davison with 3,480.
Statewide 413,861 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(above 63% of the state) with 380,597 completing vaccination(over 57% of the state). Brown County has 19,578 receiving at least one shot & 18,369 completing vaccination.
