SD Dept of Health reports 4 new COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 4 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health through Friday. The death total currently at 2,129. The state had 383 new cases and 495 recoveries, increasing active infections to 7,588. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 184.

So far, South Dakota has had 143,183 cases and 133,466 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 14 new cases and 17 recoveries. The county currently has 284 active cases. Overall, the county has had 6,208 cases and 5,829 recoveries. There’s currently 95 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 35,292 cases, followed by Pennington County with 18,625 and Lincoln County with 9,671, Other counties totals include Codington with 5,157, Brookings with 4,887, Meade with 4,053, Lawrence with 3,988, and Davison with 3,578.

Statewide 419,261 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(under 64% of the state) with 387,849 completing vaccination(over 58% of the state). Brown County has 19,826 receiving at least one shot & 18,734 completing vaccination.
