SD Dept of Health reports 4 new COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 4 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,133. The state had 812 new cases and 796 recoveries, increasing active infections to 7,600. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 200.

So far, South Dakota has had 143,995 cases and 134,262 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 37 new cases and 19 recoveries. The county currently has 302 active cases. Overall, the county has had 6,245 cases and 5,848 recoveries. There’s currently 95 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 35,478 cases, followed by Pennington County with 18,830 and Lincoln County with 9,731, Other counties totals include Codington with 5,178, Brookings with 4,908, Meade with 4,093, Lawrence with 4,012, and Davison with 3,581.

Statewide 420,649 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(under 64% of the state) with 389,189 completing vaccination(over 58% of the state). Brown County has 19,849 receiving at least one shot & 18,761 completing vaccination.
