SD Dept of Health reports 4 new COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 4 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases decreased & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,218. The state had 337 new cases and 366 recoveries, increasing active infections to 5,663. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 203.

So far, South Dakota has had 152,308 cases and 144,427 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 13 new cases and 11 recoveries. The county currently has 243 active cases. Overall, the county has had 6,580 cases and 6,237 recoveries. There’s currently 100 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 37,133 cases, followed by Pennington County with 20,429 and Lincoln County with 10,166, Other counties totals include Codington with 5,512, Brookings with 5,083, Meade with 4,456, Lawrence with 4,283, and Davison with 3,704.

Statewide 443,947 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 66% of the state) with 373,924 completing vaccination(over 57% of the state).  Statewide 39,383 have received the booster shot.

Brown County has 20,597 receiving at least one shot & 17,722 completing vaccination.  1,926 receiving the booster shot.
