PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 7 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases increased & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,260. The state had 441 new cases and 314 recoveries, increasing active infections to 5,782. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 173.
So far, South Dakota has had 156,564 cases and 148,522 recoveries.
Locally, Brown County had 22 new cases and 17 recoveries. The county currently has 292 active cases. Overall, the county has had 6,806 cases and 6,414 recoveries. There’s currently 100 Covid-related deaths.
Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 37,887 cases, followed by Pennington County with 21,223 and Lincoln County with 10,395, Other counties totals include Codington with 5,662, Brookings with 5,170, Meade with 4,645, Lawrence with 4,420, and Davison with 3,781.
Statewide 453,140 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 68% of the state) with 418,684 completing vaccination(over 58% of the state). Statewide 71,213 have received the booster shot.
Brown County has 20,929 receiving at least one shot & 19,711 completing vaccination. 3,337 receiving the booster shot.
