SD Dept of Health reports 4 new COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 4 new COVID-related deaths(through Friday), while active cases & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,014. The state had 31 new cases and 34 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 382. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 44.

So far, South Dakota has had 124,191 cases and 121,795 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 2 new cases and no recoveries. The county currently has 32 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,628 cases and 5,503 recoveries. There’s currently 93 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 31,701 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,837, and Lincoln County with 8,710, Other counties totals include Codington with 4,647, Brookings with 4,231, Davison with 3,245, Yankton with 3,108, and Lawrence with 3,004.

Statewide 351,210 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 54% of the state) with 322,271 completing vaccination(over 49% of the state).  Brown County has 16,924 receiving at least one shot & 15,717 completing vaccination.
