PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 4 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,848. The state had 49 new cases and 166 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 3,117. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 96.
So far, South Dakota has had 236,552 cases and 230,587 recoveries.
Locally, Brown County had 5 new cases and 7 recoveries. The county currently has 198 active cases. Overall, the county has had 10,245 cases and 9,927 recoveries. There’s currently 120 Covid-related deaths.
Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 56,900 cases, followed by Pennington County with 32,551 and Lincoln County with 15,464, Other counties totals include Codington with 8,375, Brookings with 8,076, Meade with 6,982, Lawrence with 6,548, and Yankton with 5,901.
Statewide 517,570 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 71% of the state) with 466,563 completing vaccination(over 58% of the state). Statewide 208,944 have received the booster shot(over 32% of the state).
Brown County has 23,603 receiving at least one shot & 22,202 completing vaccination. 10,905 receiving the booster shot.
