SD Dept of Health reports 5 COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 5 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 1,967. The state had 129 new cases and 221 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 1,624. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 112.

So far, South Dakota has had 122,660 cases and 119,069 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 10 new cases and 6 recoveries. The county currently has 77 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,509 cases and 5,341 recoveries. There’s currently 91 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 31,343 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,606, and Lincoln County with 8,621. Other counties totals include Codington with 4,591, Brookings with 4,184, Davison with 3,219, Yankton with 3,069, and Lawrence with 2,959.

Statewide 328,114 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 54% of the state) with 277,688 completing vaccination(over 46% of the state).  Brown County has 15,843 receiving at least one shot & 13,780 completing vaccination.
