PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 5 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations stayed the same, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health through Friday. The death total currently at 2,067. The state had 463 new cases and 143 recoveries, increasing active infections to 4,326. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 168.
So far, South Dakota has had 131,239 cases and 124,846 recoveries.
Locally, Brown County had 17 new cases and no recoveries. The county currently has 79 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,779 cases and 5,605 recoveries. There’s currently 95 Covid-related deaths.
Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 33,122 cases, followed by Pennington County with 15,544, and Lincoln County with 9,078, Other counties totals include Codington with 4,790, Brookings with 4,456, Lawrence with 3,399, Davison with 3,339, and Meade with 3,335.
Statewide 403,491 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(below 62% of the state) with 372,047 completing vaccination(over 56% of the state). Brown County has 19,125 receiving at least one shot & 17,979 completing vaccination.
