PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 5 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,880. The state had 110 new cases and 276 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 2,426. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 64.
So far, South Dakota has had 236,955 cases and 231,649 recoveries.
Locally, Brown County had 8 new cases and 25 recoveries. The county currently has 135 active cases. Overall, the county has had 10,271 cases and 10,015 recoveries. There’s currently 121 Covid-related deaths.
Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 56,973 cases, followed by Pennington County with 32,635 and Lincoln County with 15,472, Other counties totals include Codington with 8,400, Brookings with 8,091, Meade with 6,994, Lawrence with 6,555, and Yankton with 5,901.
Statewide 518,815 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(under 72% of the state) with 468,052 completing vaccination(under 59% of the state). Statewide 211,169 have received the booster shot(under 33% of the state).
Brown County has 23,625 receiving at least one shot & 22,256 completing vaccination. 11,028 receiving the booster shot.
