PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 5 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases decreased & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,898. The state had 124 new cases and 191 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 416. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 47.
So far, South Dakota has had 237,370 cases and 234,056 recoveries.
Locally, Brown County had 4 new cases and 16 recoveries. The county currently has 21 active cases. Overall, the county has had 10,293 cases and 10,151 recoveries. There’s currently 121 Covid-related deaths.
Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 57,057 cases, followed by Pennington County with 32,705 and Lincoln County with 15,494, Other counties totals include Codington with 8,411, Brookings with 8,100, Meade with 7,007, Lawrence with 6,570, and Yankton with 5,903.
Statewide 521,941 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(72.18% of the state) with 470,971 completing vaccination(59.09% of the state). Statewide 214,607 have received the booster shot(33.40% of the state).
Brown County has 23,700 receiving at least one shot & 22,325 completing vaccination. 11,168 receiving the booster shot.
