PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 5 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases decreased & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,979. The state had 1,585 new cases and 4,676 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 1,114. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 105.
So far, South Dakota has had 256,255 cases and 252,157 recoveries.
Locally, Brown County had 45 new cases and 167 recoveries. The county currently has 32 active cases. Overall, the county has had 10,991 cases and 10,835 recoveries. There’s currently 124 Covid-related deaths.
Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 60,716 cases, followed by Pennington County with 36,154 and Lincoln County with 16,374, Other counties totals include Codington with 9,376, Brookings with 8,735, Meade with 7,745, Lawrence with 7,300, and Yankton with 6,363.
Statewide 533,381 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 75% of the state).
Brown County has 24,152 receiving at least one shot.
