PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 6 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases increased & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,115. The state had 585 new cases and 568 recoveries, increasing active infections to 7,725. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 203.
So far, South Dakota has had 142,330 cases and 132,490 recoveries.
Locally, Brown County had 22 new cases and 12 recoveries. The county currently has 298 active cases. Overall, the county has had 6,187 cases and 5,794 recoveries. There’s currently 95 Covid-related deaths.
Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 35,087 cases, followed by Pennington County with 18,468 and Lincoln County with 9,606, Other counties totals include Codington with 5,100, Brookings with 4,852, Meade with 4,026, Lawrence with 3,966, and Davison with 3,556.
Statewide 418,050 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 63% of the state) with 386,421 completing vaccination(over 58% of the state). Brown County has 19,746 receiving at least one shot & 18,617 completing vaccination.
