SD Dept of Health reports 6 new COVID-19 related death

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 6 new COVID-related death, while active cases & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,456. The state had 428 new cases and 434 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 7,090. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 237.

So far, South Dakota has had 175,777 cases and 166,131 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 12 new cases and 19 recoveries. The county currently has 219 active cases. Overall, the county has had 7,568 cases and 7,242 recoveries. There’s currently 107 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 42,384 cases, followed by Pennington County with 23,479 and Lincoln County with 11,591, Other counties totals include Codington with 6,363, Brookings with 5,689, Meade with 5,122, Lawrence with 4,901, and Davison with 4,437.

Statewide 492,378 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 67% of the state) with 442,865 completing vaccination(over 55% of the state).  Statewide 162,629 have received the booster shot(over 25% of the state).

Brown County has 22,604 receiving at least one shot & 21,058 completing vaccination. 8,399 receiving the booster shot.
