SD Dept of Health reports 6 new COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 6 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,730. The state had 325 new cases and 1,383 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 14,615. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 294.

So far, South Dakota has had 232,725 cases and 215,380 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 17 new cases and 58 recoveries. The county currently has 831 active cases. Overall, the county has had 10,049 cases and 9,104 recoveries. There’s currently 114 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 56,429 cases, followed by Pennington County with 32,081 and Lincoln County with 15,346, Other counties totals include Codington with 8,239, Brookings with 8,011, Meade with 6,831, Lawrence with 6,428, and Yankton with 5,840.

Statewide 512,824 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 70% of the state) with 460,659 completing vaccination(under 58% of the state).  Statewide 203,068 have received the booster shot(over 31% of the state).

Brown County has 23,451 receiving at least one shot & 21,948 completing vaccination. 10,562 receiving the booster shot.
