PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 6 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,820. The state had 89 new cases and 309 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 3,940. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 142.
So far, South Dakota has had 236,221 cases and 229,461 recoveries.
Locally, Brown County had 6 new cases and 12 recoveries. The county currently has 228 active cases. Overall, the county has had 10,215 cases and 9,870 recoveries. There’s currently 117 Covid-related deaths.
Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 56,836 cases, followed by Pennington County with 32,505 and Lincoln County with 15,449, Other counties totals include Codington with 8,355, Brookings with 8,067, Meade with 6,969, Lawrence with 6,538, and Yankton with 5,887.
Statewide 516,728 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 71% of the state) with 465,586 completing vaccination(over 58% of the state). Statewide 207,826 have received the booster shot(over 32% of the state).
Brown County has 23,580 receiving at least one shot & 22,171 completing vaccination. 10,825 receiving the booster shot.
