PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 6 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,859. The state had 46 new cases and 137 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 2,919. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 88.
So far, South Dakota has had 236,648 cases and 230,870 recoveries.
Locally, Brown County had 4 new cases and 14 recoveries. The county currently has 188 active cases. Overall, the county has had 10,255 cases and 9,946 recoveries. There’s currently 120 Covid-related deaths.
Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 56,921 cases, followed by Pennington County with 32,562 and Lincoln County with 15,465, Other counties totals include Codington with 8,378, Brookings with 8,080, Meade with 6,988, Lawrence with 6,550, and Yankton with 5,900.
Statewide 517,999 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 71% of the state) with 467,170 completing vaccination(over 58% of the state). Statewide 209,841 have received the booster shot(over 32% of the state).
Brown County has 23,614 receiving at least one shot & 22,226 completing vaccination. 10,948 receiving the booster shot.
