PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 6 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,979. The state had 1,438 new cases and 1,530 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 4,210. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 94.
So far, South Dakota has had 254,670 cases and 247,481 recoveries.
Locally, Brown County had 39 new cases and 83 recoveries. The county currently has 154 active cases. Overall, the county has had 10,946 cases and 10,668 recoveries. There’s currently 124 Covid-related deaths.
Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 60,427 cases, followed by Pennington County with 35,860 and Lincoln County with 16,311, Other counties totals include Codington with 9,284, Brookings with 8,687, Meade with 7,665, Lawrence with 7,251, and Yankton with 6,334.
Statewide 532,592 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 75% of the state).
Brown County has 24,097 receiving at least one shot.
