PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 6 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases increased & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,355. The state had 615 new cases and 415 recoveries, increasing active infections to 7,416. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 248.
So far, South Dakota has had 167,759 cases and 157,988 recoveries.
Locally, Brown County had 25 new cases and 16 recoveries. The county currently has 330 active cases. Overall, the county has had 7,324 cases and 6,890 recoveries. There’s currently 104 Covid-related deaths.
Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 40,461 cases, followed by Pennington County with 22,733 and Lincoln County with 11,106, Other counties totals include Codington with 6,072, Brookings with 5,417, Meade with 4,944, Lawrence with 4,731, and Davison with 4,077.
Statewide 479,660 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(under 65% of the state) with 431,407 completing vaccination(under 54% of the state). Statewide 125,154 have received the booster shot(under 16% of the state).
Brown County has 22,135 receiving at least one shot & 20,408 completing vaccination. 6,632 receiving the booster shot.
