SD Dept of Health reports 6 new COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 6 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases decreased & hospitalizations stayed the same, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,010. The state had 58 new cases and 76 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 391. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 49.

So far, South Dakota has had 124,162 cases and 121,761 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 1 new cases and 5 recoveries. The county currently has 30 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,626 cases and 5,503 recoveries. There’s currently 93 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 31,696 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,831, and Lincoln County with 8,709, Other counties totals include Codington with 4,648, Brookings with 4,230, Davison with 3,242, Yankton with 3,107, and Lawrence with 3,004.

Statewide 350,416 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 54% of the state) with 321,522 completing vaccination(over 49% of the state).  Brown County has 16,908 receiving at least one shot & 15,663 completing vaccination.
