SD Dept of Health reports 7 COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 7 new COVID-related deaths for the weekend, while active cases  & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 1,988. The state had 86 new cases and 172 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 1,004. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 66.

So far, South Dakota has had 123,518 cases and 120,526 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 10 new cases and 13 recoveries. The county currently has 72 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,576 cases and 5,412 recoveries. There’s currently 92 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 31,579 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,732, and Lincoln County with 8,676, Other counties totals include Codington with 4,637, Brookings with 4,207, Davison with 3,231, Yankton with 3,088, and Lawrence with 2,983.

Statewide 336,010 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(under 56% of the state) with 304,435 completing vaccination(over 50% of the state).  Brown County has 16,225 receiving at least one shot & 14,924 completing vaccination.
