PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 7 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,189. The state had 318 new cases and 406 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 5,868. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 185.
So far, South Dakota has had 149,996 cases and 141,939 recoveries.
Locally, Brown County had 20 new cases and 10 recoveries. The county currently has 241 active cases. Overall, the county has had 6,483 cases and 6,143 recoveries. There’s currently 99 Covid-related deaths.
Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 36,752 cases, followed by Pennington County with 19,958 and Lincoln County with 10,091, Other counties totals include Codington with 5,386, Brookings with 5,045, Meade with 4,374, Lawrence with 4,223, and Davison with 3,673.
Statewide 440,784 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(under 66% of the state) with 381,228 completing vaccination(under 57% of the state). Statewide 28,756 have received the booster shot.
Brown County has 20,467 receiving at least one shot & 18,045 completing vaccination. 1,463 receiving the booster shot.
