SD Dept of Health reports 7 new COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 7 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,827. The state had 55 new cases and 234 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 3,754. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 127.

So far, South Dakota has had 236,276 cases and 229,695 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 3 new cases and 13 recoveries. The county currently has 218 active cases. Overall, the county has had 10,218 cases and 9,883 recoveries. There’s currently 117 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 56,844 cases, followed by Pennington County with 32,516 and Lincoln County with 15,450, Other counties totals include Codington with 8,363, Brookings with 8,069, Meade with 6,970, Lawrence with 6,542, and Yankton with 5,891.

Statewide 516,984 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 71% of the state) with 465,824 completing vaccination(over 58% of the state).  Statewide 208,027 have received the booster shot(over 32% of the state).

Brown County has 23,586 receiving at least one shot & 22,178 completing vaccination. 10,844 receiving the booster shot.
