PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 7 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,834. The state had 75 new cases and 168 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 3,654. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 122.
So far, South Dakota has had 236,351 cases and 229,863 recoveries.
Locally, Brown County had 8 new cases and 5 recoveries. The county currently has 221 active cases. Overall, the county has had 10,226 cases and 9,888 recoveries. There’s currently 117 Covid-related deaths.
Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 56,862 cases, followed by Pennington County with 32,523 and Lincoln County with 15,453, Other counties totals include Codington with 8,368, Brookings with 8,070, Meade with 6,972, Lawrence with 6,544, and Yankton with 5,894.
Statewide 517,182 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 71% of the state) with 466,046 completing vaccination(over 58% of the state). Statewide 208,273 have received the booster shot(over 32% of the state).
Brown County has 23,588 receiving at least one shot & 22,185 completing vaccination. 10,861 receiving the booster shot.
