PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 7 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,277. The state had 555 new cases and 341 recoveries, increasing active infections to 6,290. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 233.
So far, South Dakota has had 158,822 cases and 150,255 recoveries.
Locally, Brown County had 23 new cases and 15 recoveries. The county currently has 308 active cases. Overall, the county has had 6,900 cases and 6,491 recoveries. There’s currently 101 Covid-related deaths.
Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 38,370 cases, followed by Pennington County with 21,606 and Lincoln County with 10,516, Other counties totals include Codington with 5,729, Brookings with 5,206, Meade with 4,711, Lawrence with 4,494, and Davison with 3,829.
Statewide 456,453 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 68% of the state) with 420,719 completing vaccination(over 58% of the state). Statewide 82,777 have received the booster shot.
Brown County has 21,134 receiving at least one shot & 19,943 completing vaccination. 4,137 receiving the booster shot.
