PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 8 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases decreased & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 3,175. The state had 996 new cases and 1,031 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 714. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 75.
So far, South Dakota has had 277,651 cases and 273,762 recoveries.
Locally, Brown County had 69 new cases. Overall, the county has had 12,107 cases. There’s currently 134 Covid-related deaths.
Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 64,927 cases, followed by Pennington County with 38,732 and Lincoln County with 17,419, Other counties totals include Codington with 10,566, Brookings with 9,449, Meade with 8,345, Lawrence with 7,751, and Davison with 7,048.
