PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 9 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases decreased & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,993. The state had 1,292 new cases and 2,680 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 717. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 105.
So far, South Dakota has had 257,547 cases and 253,837 recoveries.
Locally, Brown County had 54 new cases and 53 recoveries. The county currently has 33 active cases. Overall, the county has had 11,045 cases and 10,888 recoveries. There’s currently 124 Covid-related deaths.
Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 60,960 cases, followed by Pennington County with 36,372 and Lincoln County with 16,426, Other counties totals include Codington with 9,445, Brookings with 8,765, Meade with 7,804, Lawrence with 7,329, and Yankton with 6,392.
Statewide 533,801 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 75% of the state).
Brown County has 24,149 receiving at least one shot.
