PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 9 new COVID-related death, while active cases increased & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 3,133. The state had 523 new cases and 321 recoveries, increasing active infections to 404. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 52.

So far, South Dakota has had 272,890 cases and 269,353 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 21 new cases. Overall, the county has had 11,818 cases. There’s currently 132 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 64,078 cases, followed by Pennington County with 38,096 and Lincoln County with 17,217, Other counties totals include Codington with 10,329, Brookings with 9,242, Meade with 8,223, Lawrence with 7,662, and Davison with 6,928.
