PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 9 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 3,190. The state had 641 new cases and 776 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 473. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 68.

So far, South Dakota has had 279,130 cases and 275,467 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 43 new cases. Overall, the county has had 12,185 cases. There’s currently 135 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 65,212 cases, followed by Pennington County with 38,893 and Lincoln County with 17,489, Other counties totals include Codington with 10,635, Brookings with 9,517, Meade with 8,389, Lawrence with 7,780, and Davison with 7,083.
