SD Dept of Health reports 7 new COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 7 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,963. The state had 1,574 new cases and 1,524 recoveries, increasing active infections to 4,433. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 89.

So far, South Dakota has had 251,860 cases and 244,464 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 84 new cases and 69 recoveries. The county currently has 216 active cases. Overall, the county has had 10,860 cases and 10,522 recoveries. There’s currently 122 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 59,945 cases, followed by Pennington County with 35,428 and Lincoln County with 16,212, Other counties totals include Codington with 9,130, Brookings with 8,595, Meade with 7,547, Lawrence with 7,131, and Yankton with 6,246.

Statewide 531,198 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 74% of the state).

Brown County has 24,048 receiving at least one shot.
