PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 9 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases increased & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,956. The state had 1,498 new cases and 1,275 recoveries, increasing active infections to 4,390. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 82.
So far, South Dakota has had 250,286 cases and 242,940 recoveries.
Locally, Brown County had 71 new cases and 45 recoveries. The county currently has 201 active cases. Overall, the county has had 10,776 cases and 10,453 recoveries. There’s currently 122 Covid-related deaths.
Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 59,618 cases, followed by Pennington County with 35,187 and Lincoln County with 16,142, Other counties totals include Codington with 9,054, Brookings with 8,540, Meade with 7,506, Lawrence with 7,081, and Yankton with 6,212.
Statewide 529,522 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 74% of the state).
Brown County has 23,996 receiving at least one shot.
