PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 9 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases decreased & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 3,115. The state had 923 new cases and 1,041 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 649. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 64.

So far, South Dakota has had 270,809 cases and 267,045 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 38 new cases. Overall, the county has had 11,741 cases. There’s currently 132 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 63,548 cases, followed by Pennington County with 37,812 and Lincoln County with 17,073, Other counties totals include Codington with 10,234, Brookings with 9,179, Meade with 8,187, Lawrence with 7,633, and Davison with 6,875.
